Nutrition Is more than Skin Deep
Farrow has never been shy about discussing all the layers of optimal skin health. Most skincare companies want you focused on their products ONLY. They want you to disassociate nutrition you eat with nutrition on your skin. Of course they do! The less you focus on what you eat, the more they can sell you copious amounts of products to treat the skin issues you are creating by improper nourishment.
There are a host of critical nutrients, think of them as raw building materials, for your skin to maintain and build a healthy glow. These are in no particular order, but I’d start with:
· Vitamin A
· Vitamin E
· Vitamin C
· Carotenoids
· Zinc
· Selenium
· Beta-carotene
· Omega 3 Fatty Acids
I don’t think any of these vitamins and minerals are up for debate when it comes to providing your skin with optimal nourishment.
Where things get tricky is determining the best sources.
The biggest lie the diet (and skincare) industry ever convinced the world was true is that synthetic vitamins, nutrients and minerals are somehow on par with the naturally occurring kind. The supplement industry, diet industry and skincare industry are FULL of fake nutrients that we don’t metabolize very well.
When it comes to deep nutrition that is bioavailable and easily metabolized, nothing beats real food. If you wanted to make a list of the foods that are great for your skin, it looks something like this:
1. Liver & Organ Meats: Vitamin A & B, Zinc, Selenium, Iron
2. Fatty Fish: Omega 3s & Vitamin D
3. Nuts/Seeds: Zinc, Vitamin E
4. Leafy Greens, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes: Polyphenols, Beta-carotene
5. Berries & Avocados: Vitamins C/E, Antioxidants

Let’s make a note here—these are all real foods.
Also want to note that Liver and Organ meats are at the top of the list. However, they are NOT at the top of my list. I don’t like eating these super-foods. It’s hard to cook them properly and I don’t have a Michelin-trained chef on call to prepare the offal to my liking.
Fear Not Farrow Fans—PLUCK to the Rescue!

This is by far one of my favorite brands in the health space. Chef James Barry take desiccated organ meats and turns them into the most delightful seasonings you can possibly imagine.
Don’t believe me—you should have seen how excited my children were when the got Pluck Seasoning in their stocking this year. We can’t get enough of this stuff and it’s a totally terrific way to feed your skin (and the rest of your body) deep nutrition.
We are encouraging everyone to sign up for the Organuary Challenge starting January 4th. HERE IS THE LINK to sign up!
The contest begins January 5th and runs for the remainder of the month. All you have to do is eat organ meats FOUR times in January. There are over $8,000 in prizes and one luck winner will be drawn.
If you want GLOWING SKIN, you need to update your nutrition game. No better (or tastier) way to do that than with Pluck.
